Effect of Physical Activity Program for Cognition in the Alzheimer¡¯s Dementia - Single Subject Design -

Abstract
Objectives : The study is to explore effects of the cognition on physical activity program for Alzheimer`s dementia patients

Methods : This study was a single-subject experimental research with ABA` design. The subject were four persons who diagnosed as Alzheimer`s and this design was performed during six weeks for them. Recognition word list and Memory word list function of subjects was measured during baseline phase(5 session: A), Intervention(20 session: B) and baseline return phase`(5 session: A`) using CERAD-K each session. Recent memory, remote memory and immediate memory was measured using CARDS in Pre-Post in physical activity program.

Results : Recognition word list and Memory word list function of subjects was more improved during Intervention period(B) than baseline and return phase this improvement. Before and after the physical activity program, subjects was changed to cognitive function.

Conclusion : The result of this study show that physical therapy program for Alzheimer`s dementia is a useful therapeutic approach by enhancing the their cognitive function.
